WCHS Bands
Wright City has been fortunate to have had a band in the community since the late 1870’s. A community band played at just about every public gathering and was a source of pride in the community.
In the early 1900’s when schools were established for the upper grades, school bands were formed. Wright City school bands, even those of modest size, involve a group of people working together for the same goal and continued that sense of pride for the community.
The WCHS Bands have a history of being successful in competitions and in their growth and expansion of programs offered in the district. Currently the district offers instrumental music programs for grades 6th through 12th, with concert band, marching and jazz bands. Participation in the band is open to all students.
Music has an amazing way of connecting people. And if you were ever part of a school band, you can probably testify to the family atmosphere, may have fond memories of those days, and may even still enjoy lifelong friendships with other former band members. On this Band page we hope to share some of those fond memories.
